Bio: Ali A. Rizvi is a writer, physician, and scientist. He is the author of “The Atheist Muslim: A Journey for Religion and Reason,” and co-host of the popular podcast, “Secular Jihadists for a Muslim Enlightenment.” He grew up in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Libya, and now lives in Toronto, Canada.

Abstract: We all know that science and religion can coexist. They have for centuries. But are they compatible? The short answer is, “No.” Science and religion are not just incompatible, but antithetical to each other. In fact, the very core of religion (based on faith) contradicts the very core of science (based on evidence). The two cannot be reconciled without a generous amount of cognitive dissonance. This talk will convincingly show you why.narratives which attempt to answer this coexistence question.
